Prayers in the Sky…
June 23rd, 2008 by April
Last Thursday we attended the funeral for Dusty Damron - Scott’s uncle. After the funeral, the whole family joined together at Scott’s grandmother’s house and ate cherry pie (which was Dusty’s favorite ) and celebrated his 56th birthday, the day he was buried. They also bought 60 or so balloons, tied them all together, and then we each wrote a note to Dusty and tied it to the end of the balloon strand.
Then we all went outside and Scott’s grandmother, mother, uncle, and aunt let the balloons go and we all watched for several minutes as they flew higher and higher into the sky until we could no longer see them. It was very touching and I felt very proud and blessed to be a part of such a wonderful family.
We Love you Uncle Dusty!

That sounds like a really cool celebration of your uncle’s life, April - and it’s really sweet to see all the kids right there with the adults, celebrating his passing on to the next life. Thanks for sharing!
