Creative Background Using (Tags & Distress Stains!)

* Tag & Distress Stain Background

Today’s creative background was super easy to make and I can’t wait to scrap with it!

* I started by adhering 15 plain white tags onto a sheet of white cardstock. I placed the tags along the top of the page first and trimmed off the extra left over at the end. I completed the second row next, but made sure to start on the opposite side first so that my “half-tags” were on opposite sides of the page.

* After all the tags were all attatched, I began coloring them with Ranger’s new Distress Stains. I chose Faded Jeans to start with and simply swiped it across each tag until I was happy with the color. The colors get darker each time you re-apply the stain! I then went on to add several more colors of stain and even blended them to make new colors as I went up the page. I added some Dusty Concord, Broken China, Weathered Wood, and even some Spun Sugar (a lovely light pink) – which I used along the top of the page directly over the Weathered Wood!

* Here are some close up shots of the tags so you can hopefully see some of the color blending:

The tags dry pretty quickly and if you are unhappy with the colors you can always add more and continue blending. For me, Distress Stains are just one of the new products I can not get enough of right now!!! I have the perfect layout in mind for this background – I am turning 34 tomorrow and I thought it might be cool to create a layout sharing 34 things I like right now. Hope to have it completed in a day or two.

Creatively Yours,
April
